Wood View Learning Community based in the North West of Plymouth
Welcome to the Wood View Learning Community web site. Our learning community is based around a federation of 3 schools; Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, Woodlands Community Special School and Whitleigh Community Primary School.
This formal collaboration of partners also includes Whitleigh Children's Centre, Wise Owls Neighbourhood Nursery, a Pupil Referral Unit for Young Parents, Wood View Residential Short Break Service, Whitleigh Youth Centre and Adult Education. This extensive partnership aims to deliver a cohesive range of services to the children, young people and their families within the North West of Plymouth. All partners are governed by the Wood View Learning Community Federated Governing Body.
Our innovative and exciting campus has been built using PFI credits and is a formal partnership between Plymouth City Council and the Pyramid Consortium. Interserve are responsible for the construction and their facilities management team are running the premises.
We begin our 4th year on Campus in September 2011 and proudly boast some of the best facilities available locally. At the heart of the Campus we have a fantastic dining space which leads to a shared library and performance hall. Alongside, we have a range of specialist shared spaces for drama, dance, music and gym and these are accessed by all partners.
I hope you find the web site helpful as it is rich with information regarding each one of our schools and partners and wish us well as we strive to provide 21st Century provision for our community of learners.
