Learning Campus

Wood View Learning Community
based in the North West of Plymouth

Welcome to the Wood View Learning Community web site. Our community of partners is based around a hard federation of schools; Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, Woodlands Community Special School and Whitleigh Community Primary School.

This formal collaboration of partners also includes Whitleigh Children’s Centre, Wise Owls Neighbourhood Nursery, a Pupil Referral Unit for Young Parents, Whitleigh Youth Centre and Adult Education and more recently the Plymouth Forest School. This extensive partnership aims to deliver a cohesive range of services to the children, young people and their families of the Wood View Learning Community.

Our innovative and exciting campus has been built using PFI credits and is a formal partnership between Plymouth City Council and the Pyramid Consortium. Interserve are responsible for the construction and their facilities management team are running the premises.

John ButcherIn November 2008 the students of Woodlands Special School were the last to move on Campus and complete the partnership. Students and staff from all partners are now sharing facilities, resources and expertise and aiming to maximise the opportunities that such an exciting project provides.
