Wood View Learning Community based in the North West of Plymouth
Welcome to the Wood View Learning Community web site. Our community of partners is based around a federation of schools; Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, Woodlands Community Special School and Whitleigh Community Primary School. This formal collaboration of partners also includes Whitleigh Children’s Centre, Wise Owls Neighbourhood Nursery, a Pupil Referral Unit for Young Parents, Wood View Residential Short Break Service, Whitleigh Youth Centre and Adult Education and more recently the Plymouth Forest School. This extensive partnership aims to deliver a cohesive range of services to the children, young people and their families of the Wood View Learning Community.
Our innovative and exciting campus has been built using PFI credits and is a formal partnership between Plymouth City Council and the Pyramid Consortium. Interserve are responsible for the construction and their facilities management team are running the premises.
By September 2010 the Campus will be two years old and we are proud to say that we are all settled and working well together. Students and staff from all partners are now sharing facilities, resources and expertise and are aiming to maximise the opportunities that such an exciting project provides. Our partnership continues to grow and are especially proud to announce on-site 6th form provision for our secondary and special school students from September 2010.
